Section 4
Issuance of identity card

(1) If a non-resident Nepali whose name is included in the record according to section 3 wants to get an identity card, he must submit an application to the designated authority. After necessary investigation, the applicant can be given an identity card of a non-resident Nepali after taking the prescribed form.

(3) The duration of the identity card issued according to sub-section (2) in case of a foreign citizen of Nepali origin shall be subject to the visa obtained by the applicant and stay abroad for a maximum of ten years. If he is a Nepali citizen, it will be valid for two years.

However, a Nepali citizen living abroad who has a permit to reside abroad for more than two years can be given an identity card for that period.

(4) Those who want to renew their identity card. The non-resident Nepalese must submit an application to the designated authority before the expiration of the period of the identity card.

(5) If an application is received for the renewal of the identity card according to sub-section (4), the designated authority shall renew the identity card subject to sub-section (3) by taking the prescribed fee. It will have to be done.
